Expo (“Slow Social”) is operated by Pike House. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our daily photo sharing service.
2. Information We Collect
Creator accounts: When you sign up, we collect your email address for authentication. If you add a phone number to your account, we store that as well.
Subscribers: When you subscribe to a channel via text message, we collect your phone number and associate it with the channels you subscribe to.
Content: Photos and captions uploaded by creators are stored to deliver the service.
Automatically collected: We collect standard web server logs (IP addresses, browser type, pages visited) for security and service operation.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Email addresses: To authenticate your creator account via magic link sign-in.
- Phone numbers: To deliver daily photo messages via SMS/MMS to subscribers, and to send test messages to creators.
- Photos: To store in your queue and deliver to subscribers.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use your phone number for any purpose other than delivering the Expo service.
4. SMS/MMS Messaging Privacy
Your phone number is collected solely to deliver photo messages from channels you subscribe to. Specifically:
- We only send messages to numbers that have opted in by texting a subscribe command.
- Message frequency is up to 1 message per day per channel.
- You can opt out at any time by texting
STOP. - No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
- Message and data rates may apply. Check with your carrier for details.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following services to operate Expo:
- Twilio — SMS/MMS message delivery
- UploadThing — Photo storage
- Neon — Database hosting
- Vercel — Application hosting
- Resend — Magic link email delivery
These services process data as necessary to provide their functionality. Each has its own privacy policy governing their handling of data.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account or subscription is active. When you unsubscribe from all channels, we retain your phone number only to honor your opt-out preference. Creator accounts and their associated content can be deleted upon request.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure database hosting, and authentication via magic links (no passwords stored).
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Opt out of SMS messages at any time by texting STOP
- Request a copy of your personal data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Update your personal information

9. Children's Privacy
Expo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
10. Changes
